Colosseum · Imperial Forum
Not the postcard from the metro exit. A private session at sunrise or sunset — the Colosseum from Via Cavour, then a kilometre of columns, brick arches and umbrella pines along the Forum.
Timing
Sunrise in Rome moves by more than two hours between June and December. So there are no fixed slots — your session is built around the real sun on your date.
Starts at the first quarter-hour after the sun clears the horizon. A 90-minute session in mid-June: 05:45 – 07:15.
Ends at the last quarter-hour before the sun goes down. A 90-minute session in mid-September: 17:45 – 19:15.

“Roberta is absolutely fantastic – a true professional, she not only knew Rome’s most breathtaking spots for a fantastic photo, she was so much fun and made the whole experience easy and free of stress. I could not recommend her more!”
“We had an incredible experience with Roberta as our photographer. It was rainy during our shoot and she didn’t let that stop the quality of the photos or the shoot. She was a champ! Our engagement photos turned out amazing and we couldn’t be happier. Communication from the start to finish was flawless and we would recommend her to everyone!”
“Roberta is a magician! My husband and I visited Italy for vacation and wanted to do a small photoshoot just because and the photos turned out BEYOND AMAZING! We have done quite a few photoshoots over the years but these photos are def some of my favorite ever! In addition to the great work, Roberta is very kind and was super easy to deal with (flexibility in booking dates, very responsive, quick turnaround time, etc.).”
On Via Cavour, a few minutes above the Colosseum. I send the exact spot with your confirmed start time.
No. I never go inside — the whole session is outside: the Colosseum, the Forum seen from the streets around it, the terraces. No tickets, no queues.
Both work. Sunrise for empty streets and low light across the Forum. Sunset for warmth on the brick and the Campidoglio at golden hour — with more people around.
Yes — it is the most open of the routes, with space to walk, sit on the old walls and let children move. 60 or 90 minutes is usually right for kids.
Yes. We plan it together beforehand — where to stand, where I wait, how you’ll know I’m ready. Then the portraits continue while your hands are still shaking.
